Here are a few meal ideas that you can make from the ground beef this week! 
 

1. Tacos:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning mix
  • 1 cup water
  • Taco shells or tortillas
  • Toppings of your choice (lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, etc.)

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the taco seasoning mix and 1 cup of water to the skillet with the beef. Stir well and simmer for a few minutes until the mixture thickens and the beef is well coated with the seasoning.
  3. Warm your taco shells or tortillas in the oven or microwave.
  4. Serve the seasoned ground beef in the shells and add your favorite toppings.

2. Sloppy Joes:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Hamburger buns

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and bell pepper to the skillet with the beef. Cook until the vegetables are tender.
  3. Stir in the ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto hamburger buns and serve.

3. Spaghetti Bolognese:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cooked spaghetti

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, dried basil, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve the Bolognese sauce over cooked spaghetti.

 

4. Shepherd's Pie:

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cups mixed vegetables (peas, carrots, corn)
  • 1 can (14 ounces) beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • Mashed potatoes (prepared separately)

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Cook until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the mixed vegetables, beef broth, and tomato paste. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. Transfer the beef mixture to a baking dish and spread a layer of mashed potatoes on top.
  5. Place the dish in the oven and broil for a few minutes until the mashed potatoes are golden brown.
  6. Serve the shepherd's pie hot.
